a dreamy little reboot

On Friday July 24th, I made an announcement on Instragram that Yorabode is back, and there has been incredible support—thank you! And also, a lot of questions. Here are some answers to common questions:

What scents are available?

Tuckamore and Brackish, we're keeping things simple.

What about custom scents or my other favourites?

At this time they aren't available, but feel free to let me know about your interest and I'll make sure to keep you in the loop if I decide to do bring any of those back later.

What products are available?

I'm offering a very limited number of candles, essential oils and scent sprays. Everything currently available can be found on our shop page. If an item you'd like is sold out, you can add your email by clicking 'notify when available' and you'll automatically get a notice if I decide to make more pre-order spots available.

When will I get my goods?

All products will be available by pre-order only. I plan to make these goods in mid August (Lauren's joining!) They will ship in late August or early September.

Will you wholesale?

There are no plans to at this time, but if you own a shop and are interested in discussing further, let me know.

Will this be a regular thing, able to get Yorabode more often now?

I'm really not sure. Most of my time is now spent as an architect and artist—You can learn more about that work here. I enjoy that work immensely, but have missed this work too. I plan on following my gut to see how this unfolds.

Are you back in St. John's?

No, I still live and work in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia. St. John's was my home for over a decade. I miss it dearly and continue to come back to visit friends and spend time outdoors, but have no plans to move back.

How do I get ahold of you?

You can reach out via email or Instagram. Where this is no longer my full-time job, my response time may be up to two weeks. I hope over Yorabode's 8 years in business I've built up enough trust for you to know you'll get your goods and if there are any challenges, I'll work hard to make it right.

Why did Yorabode close?

Yorabode closed in summer of 2024, here's some of what I shared then. That all still rings true now:

I’ve made the incredibly hard decision to say goodbye for now and close our little St. John’s studio. 2024 will be Yorabode’s last year in business. I’ll be leaving with incredible gratitude to you all who supported me (and Lauren) in exploring how foraged botanicals and experiences of nature could enrich our homes. The consumer landscape has changed so much since I started and I’m struggling to find a way to exist in this space that feels aligned with my values and can also support my family and staff financially.

I’ll be moving to Nova Scotia this summer or fall and transitioning more fully to the career I’ve held part-time for over a decade in architecture and affordable housing. I’m planning on maintaining our newsletter list and social media accounts just in case. I love this work and don’t know what the future holds.

I’m very proud of the brand, scents and following we’ve built over the past eight years. Thank you again for your support in allowing me to follow my dreams and make some very very nice smelling things.
